A Lovely Early Chair with Petite-Point

This chair came from the Mickie Haynes collection. It is a one of a kind with very simple lines, turned front legs, and has a carved motif below the seat level. The seat is done in fine petite-point with a dark blue background and a flowered center. The mahogany stain is done very nicely and shows the chair beautifully presented with a plain, curved back, carved arms and turned front legs. Underneath the chair is like block carving – triangular sides and a raised center block of wood. I think the chair makes quite a statement and would look nice in a hallway, or in a bedroom or parlor!
