An Ormolu Umbrella Stand
Collectors also refer to this piece as a wastebasket, but I like idea of an umbrella stand. If you view the photo with the side view, you can see there are several rows of leaves. They are all attached and are evenly spaced at the bottom of the stand and then up near the top, they bend backwards to allow a larger opening at the top. Then a thick row of ormolu in sort of a rope design provides a border on top! A nice piece to display at your hall entrance!
Measurements: 1-5/8”h. Diameter of the opening is 1-3/8”w.
Circa: 19th Century
