An Unusual Ormolu Inkwell

 

There are four little feet that hold this piece up! The impressed designs of scroll work frame the outside and a string of beads in the center with a medallion at the top give it a special appearance! Two tiny lids are found on top of the variegated glass inkwells. These lids are removable. Now the glass inkwells have an ormolu wire that winds around each glass inkwell to keep them in place. (I am sure that is how they have remained intact). This would be a great piece for that special desk.
